Founded in 1996 in Mexico, la Caravana is a social service project and mobile ecovillage whose mission is to bring ecological consciousness and education to the Americas. Staffed by a crew of some 20 volunteers from many parts of the world, la Caravana uses theatre, workshops, courses, conferences, audiovisuals and events to teach people to take better care of the Earth. Financed largely through its works for governments, institutions, and ONGs in the countries it visits, it also receives donations and grants for specific projects. Recognized as a pioneer model for sustainable living, and training center for future social and cultural leaders, la Caravana forms part of the Ecovillages Network of the Americas and the Global Ecovillages Network. It has organized similar events in Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Ecuador.

Its goal is to promote the creation of new ecovillages and to create a supportive and cooperation network amongst those which already exist.
It was founded during the 1980s by social and environmental activists, poets, artists, and healers dedicated to the creation of a Charter for the Earth and all its inhabitants, including not only humans, but all the natural elements.. It has put together eight congresses in Canada and the U.S., one of them in coalition with the Vision Council of Mexico, the First Bioregional Congress of the Americas held in Mexico in 1996.
This movement originated in Mexico in the beginning of the 1990s, to provide an annual space for the realization of bioregional gatherings, create an informal network among groups from all over the country, and facilitate a link with the alternative movements of North and South America. It has put together eight gatherings in different bioregions of the country, and it offers its wide experience to Call of the Condor in the preparation and realization of the event.
Founded by Rodolfo Rodríguez and Addie Barandiarán, Comunidad Humana is located in the town of Paucartambo in the State of Cusco. It is an experimental farm of fruit trees which was completely abandoned when the project began. One of its important characteristics is the adaptation of micro-climates specific to each type of plant. At this time, they are recuperating the farm and have created a hostel named Tambo Azul to finance the development of environmental projects as well as the management of the ecology board for the region.
Its objective is to share the activities of the project with neighboring communities and with people from outlying provinces so that it becomes a multiplier of knowledge and techniques and a way to learn and to preserve the ancestral wisdom of the surrounding communities.
